The downtown comprises office buildings, urban open
space, historic landmarks and cultural destinations. The
state began the $48 million development of a new Convention
Center and renovated Civic Center. Located in the
heart of downtown When completed this will be the visitors
destination for entertainment and enjoyment. The Civic Center
currently is home to the AHL
Springfield Falcons Hockey Team.
The "New"
80,000-square-foot, $45 million, basketball-shaped building
Naismith
Basketball Hall of Fame has just reopened in September
2002
and has opened to rave reviews. Located in Downtown Springfield it
is part of a revalidation plan of the Riverfront that
includes Hotels and Restaurants.
New Englands largest amusement park
is nearby - Six
Flags of New England. Ten minutes north you'll find the Volleyball
Hall of Fame where Volleyball was invented in 1895 and
more museums.
Springfield is home to many
historic landmarks including Springfield
National Armory -
the United States first armory at the request of George
Washington.

Transportation:
Springfield is only @ 20minutes from Bradley International
Airport. Interstate 91 runs thru downtown which will bring you to
the Mass Pike, down to Connecticut or North to Vermont. ThePassenger
rail service is available from Springfield to Boston, New York,
Washington D.C, and all other points on the Amtrak Network.
